In 1954, "Yellow Cab" in Marin County was three (3) separate companies from Yellow Cab corporation.
With the breakup of Yellow Cab these three companies became independent; Sausalito Yellow Cab, San Rafael Yellow Cab, and Mill Valley Yellow Cab. The latter entity; Mill Valley Taxi, became Belaire Cab in the sixties.
In 1970, Sausalito Yellow Cab was sold and became Sausalito Taxi. It went out of business in 2005.
In addition, in the late 70's Radio Cab Company was established in San Rafael to compete with San Rafael Yellow Cab. Radio Cab was subsequently sold in the late 80's to a new owner and this owner in the early 90's bought San Rafael Yellow Cab. And the mergers continued with Belaire Cab Company in 1994 purchasing Radio Cab And San Rafael Yellow Cab.
